IDEATION
I explored how animation and form can transform typography into storytelling:
Energy & Rhythm → Used a volcano eruption and sleeping metaphor to capture intensity and momentum through motion.
Playful Symbolism → Blended illustration and type in Flower, where the watering can “W” and blooming “O” create a visual pun.
These directions helped me see motion graphics as more than movement as they reveal the character and voice of type.
ILLUSTRATION
Before animating, I created the base visuals in Procreate. I experimented with expressive letterforms, testing how subtle changes in line, weight, and structure could suggest tone and personality. For the 'Flower' piece, I illustrated both the type and symbolic elements (the watering can and bloom), merging drawing with typography to set up the narrative for animation.

I then designed and animated motion graphics in Adobe After Effects, applying the 12 principles of animation to ensure natural and engaging movement. * The animation may take a moment to load due to its resolution. |
